A couple of days ago, after a long time, I experienced a Papercut, nothing major.
As I was putting Band-Aid on it to cover it, that particular finger stopped functioning..like literally.
In fact, all the other fingers were trying to protect this one finger from getting hurt any further,
I learnt a small lesson…
Since we are wired to instinctively protect ourselves from danger. Whether it be physical pain or emotional pain, (our brain processes it the same)… we need to be aware that we don’t get in the way of our healing or bury it through avoidance, but that we admit we are healing.
Only when I stopped defending the hurt, did I begin to heal…
Maybe the areas we defend the most, are the areas we need the most healing.
It’s ok. It’s better when you heal.
